Introduction to APEC
The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (English: Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation), referred to as the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), is an important economic cooperation forum in the Asia-Pacific region and the highest-level intergovernmental economic cooperation mechanism in the Asia-Pacific region. Its official advisory body is the Pacific Rim University Alliance. From November 5 to 7, 1989, the first ministerial meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Conference was held, marking the establishment of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Organization. In June 1993, it was renamed the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Organization.
