About Us

The China - Central Asia Exchange and Cooperation Research Center  is a foreign affairs research and development platform approved and established by Shandong Province government . As a vital part of Shandong Province's foreign affairs system, guided by President Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy, the Center fully implements the consensus reached at the China - Central Asia Summit. It focuses on the needs of exchange and cooperation between Shandong and the five Central Asian countries (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan), and strives to build a professional platform that integrates strategic research, policy consultation, platform construction and talent training.
Leveraging the multidisciplinary advantages of Qilu University of Technology (Shandong Academy of Sciences), the Center has integrated resources from universities, scientific research institutions and enterprises across the province, and set up a professional research team covering fields such as international relations, regional economy, agricultural science and technology, cross - border logistics and digital trade. As an important member of Shandong's foreign affairs research and development system, the Center provides precise intellectual support for cooperation between Shandong and Central Asian countries.
In terms of core functions, the Center has established a three - dimensional working system of "research + service + practice". Firstly, it conducts strategic research and puts forward policy suggestions.  Secondly, it undertakes cooperation platform construction and resource connection. Relying on the China - Central Asia Smart Agriculture Industry and Technology Alliance, the Center promotes the joint research and development of projects and technological transformation in fields including modern agricultural science and technology, bio - medicine and advanced manufacturing between Shandong and Central Asian countries. It cooperates with local governments and enterprises in Shandong to advance the construction of smart agriculture demonstration zones in Central Asia . Thirdly, it promotes academic & cultural exchanges. It organizes academic seminars, talent training programs, cultural exchange activities and other events to deepen exchanges and cooperation between Shandong and Central Asian countries. Fourthly, it provides information services and data support. 
Since its establishment, the Center has achieved tangible results in various fields. it has participated in advancing the construction of a smart agriculture demonstration zone in Uzbekistan, and carried out cooperative projects such as the joint research and development of smart agricultural technologies and the comprehensive utilization of saline - alkali land. It has also helped set up the China - Central Asia Smart Agriculture Industry and Technology Alliance, facilitating the local application of technological achievements in Central Asia.
In the future, the Center will continue to deepen cooperation with scientific research institutions in Central Asian countries and establish a regular exchange mechanism. It will focus on key areas such as smart agricultural technologies, comprehensive utilization of saline - alkali land and development of Chinese herbal medicines, and launch more research results with practical application value.
